Chegg College Crew Code of Conduct
Chegg provides its College Crew members with this Code of Conduct so you know the do's and don’ts for your activities. These rules are in addition to the Chegg College Crew Terms of Use that generally govern your relationship with Chegg Inc. as a Chegg College Crew member (“Crew Member”). You and Chegg can both be held responsible for your activities, including online posts, so you must follow these rules every time you post something about Chegg or otherwise engage in an activity as a Crew member. We may monitor your activities and if you do not follow these rules we may, without notice or liability to you, take corrective action, remove you from our list of Crew Members and immediately terminate all of your Crew Member benefits. By participating in the Chegg College Crew program, you agree to abide by this code of conduct.
- Always identify yourself as a Chegg College Crew member. If you post any information about Chegg or any Chegg product or Chegg partner to any personal account (your personal Facebook page, your personal twitter account) or anywhere else (such as someone else's web site) you must identify yourself as having a connection to Chegg: We recommend using this tag: The Chegg College Crew earns cash for college. For online messages (including Twitter), use http://cmp.ly/, which provides a tiny url that can follow a “Sponsored Post” notation. You should use #3 "Paid Post – Cash Payment or Other Compensation."
- Don’t engage in unlawful spam. There are laws governing your use of email to promote Chegg or its partners, and we want to make sure that you follow them. ALWAYS USE THE “Share it” TOOL WHEN SENDING EMAIL TO A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER. This tool will ensure that the intended recipient of your email hasn’t already unsubscribed from receiving Chegg marketing emails, and it will also automatically put a footer in your email giving the recipient a chance to unsubscribe from future Chegg marketing emails that you, Chegg, or other Crew Members might send them. If someone doesn’t want to get emails about Chegg, let’s respect that wish.
- Be honest. Do not write, say or post anything you know is untrue or may be misleading. When you communicate about Chegg or its partners, all your statements must accurately reflect your honest, current opinions, findings, beliefs or your personal experience.
- Do not make claims about Chegg products. Only express your opinions and experience with Chegg or Chegg partner products. Do not make performance, price or other product claims without Chegg or the partner’s written approval. For example, if true, you can say that you have been renting text books from Chegg for three years, but do not say "Chegg will always deliver your textbooks in 1 day!"
- Keep it clean and respectful, and be considerate of your audience. Your communications must not be offensive. Cursing, inflammatory or insulting comments, personal attacks, or similar actions are prohibited. Your communications must not threaten, abuse or harm others or include any negative comments that are connected to such things as race, color, national origin, religion, age, sex/gender, sexual orientation, disability or that are in any way defamatory, slanderous, indecent, obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit. And if someone has asked you to stop sending them messages about Chegg or a partner, respect that wish….there are millions of other students out there who do want to hear about how they can save lots of money on textbooks.
- Do not comment on the Chegg site except as a disclosed Chegg Crew Member – see point 1 above.
- Respect school rules. Some schools have rules that limit your ability to market on campus, and may prohibit certain activities such as posting of flyers or engaging in door to door marketing. There are lots of creative ways for you to get a company’s message out to students, just make sure that you’re familiar with the school rules and follow them.
- No violence or promotion of anything illegal. Your communications may not promote any illegal activity. This means that when you are discussing Chegg you cannot discuss drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, or anything else that is illegal or inappropriate. Do not promote violence or describe a violent act.
- Any communications must be your original content. Never copy someone else's work unless you got it through our program, and never post something you found on another blog, on the internet or that you did not personally create.
- Respect the rights of third parties. In most cases, you must have the proper permissions in order to post the names, trademarks, logos, images, photographs, videos, music, artwork, writings, text and all other materials of third parties. If you are using any third party content in connection with Chegg, confirm that you have the right to use all materials before you post or otherwise use them.
- Don't share other people's personal information. Your communications may not reveal another person's address, phone number, e-mail address, credit card number or any information that may be used to track, contact, or impersonate that individual or that is personal in nature.
- Never disclose confidential information. Do not reveal, use, or comment on any confidential (i.e., not generally known by the public) or proprietary information of Chegg or relating to its business matters.
- Don't use Chegg brands/trademarks/logos/content or other materials without permission. You must have prior written approval from Chegg or its partners before you can post or otherwise use any brands, logo, trademarks, artwork, and other content or materials owned or controlled by Chegg or its partners. This also means don't use any domain names or e-mail addresses that include Chegg, its marks or its website urls.
- Remember your role as a Crew Member. Act appropriately when interacting with other people or the world as a Chegg Crew Member.. Under no circumstances should offensive or abusive comments be made by you about Chegg, or Chegg customers, employees, partners or other Chegg-related parties.
- If you see something, say something! If you see violations of these rules, please let us know at the contact us information provided below. Conduct that’s inconsistent with this Code actually hurts the entire community of Crew Members, and we want to address it.
- Media Inquiries? If a member of the media contacts you about Chegg or being a Chegg Crew Member , let us know right away and do not respond directly…we’ll work with you to make sure that the press gets what they need!
- If in doubt ... If you have any questions, contact us!
